What is the cost of your wedding cakes?
Since each cake is customized to incorporate your personal and unique visions, it is extremely difficult to give an estimated cost since there are so many variables. Each cake cost is factored by the following specific information:
- The complexity element in design
- Total number of servings
- Cake & filling flavor(s)
- Shape of cake
- Delivery location
Our wedding cakes start at $7.00 per person with a simple buttercream finish and $8.00 for a white fondant finish. Pricing may increase depending upon the factors listed above.
How much in advance do I need to order a wedding cake?
We recommend ordering your wedding cake 4-9 months in advance of your wedding date during wedding season (May-October). During peak season, we limit the amount of cakes we accept in order to maintain our high quality service and excellent reputation. For all other times of the year, a 2 months’ notice would suffice.
Do you make cakes for guests requiring a special dietary need?
Yes, with limitations.
- Vegan
- Eggless
- Dairy Free
- Gluten Free
- Nut free
Cake tasting fee is $30.00 for our special dietary flavor options. These options are not readily available and consultations must be made a week prior to the expected date. Unfortunately, this charge is not credited toward your wedding cake balance since there are many specialty ingredients used to create this special selection for you to enjoy.
We are a full, from scratch bakery that creates and utilizes many different ingredients throughout the bakeshop using the same tools and equipment for all of our baking. We do our absolute best to avoid any cross contamination for guests with mild sensitivities or special preferences. We do not have special tools or equipment that are strictly used for those sensitivities and therefore, should not be considered as such a facility. Although we do offer a limited selection of flavors with these offerings, we are not and should not be considered a dairy free, nut free, gluten free or egg free facility.
Is there a fee involved with scheduling a cake tasting consultation and how many guests are welcomed?

If you need to reschedule an appointment, we require a 24 hour’s cancellation notice. It is always best to pre-determine what your allocated budget is for you wedding cake. Please be advised that designer cakes are more expensive due to the many hours of meticulous work that is placed into this type of cake. We can offer options to work with most budgets but they need to be realistic budgets.

Do you deliver and is there a delivery charge?
Yes, we deliver! We deliver almost all of cakes assembled. Certain designs may need to be finished on site. We deliver anywhere in RI, MA, CT, NY and sometimes beyond. A modest delivery and set up fee is charged. Pricing depends upon location of the reception. We deliver our cakes typically 1-3 hours prior to your guests arriving; although, special circumstances require special arrangements.
We are having our cake displayed in an outside venue. There is no air conditioning available. Should we be concerned about the stability of our cake?
Our cakes, fillings and frostings are all made from scratch. Due to the delicate nature of the ingredients we use, we cannot guarantee that the cake will maintain its’ integrity when exposed to high temperatures or humidity. Our frostings are made with pure butter which can become unstable if exposed to warm temperatures. We do offer suggestions on various options that would be more suitable for your circumstance. We have worked with many venues/caterers successfully. We feel that we have an obligation to you and to ourselves to be as honest as possible in order to make your wedding day as beautiful and memorable as it should be.
Do you decorate your cakes with fresh flowers or sugar flowers?
We prefer to decorate our cakes with handmade sugar flowers. We do decorate with fresh flowers as well. However, we do not supply the fresh flowers. Flowers are to be provided the florist or yourself. If we are to decorate the wedding cake at the venue, arrangements must be made ahead of time to have the flowers either be brought to us at our shop or to be left for us at the venue. If the flowers are to be left for us at the venue for us to use, please be sure to advise us of the floral design details. The more information that is provided to us, the more knowledgeable we will be to ensure that your wedding cake is breathtaking, is flawless and is exactly as you had envisioned it. Our drivers may not have the skills necessary to decorate the cake and assumes no responsibility for design alterations.
Do you rent out cake stands or cake pedestals?
We do offer a wide variety of cake stands that can be rented out. Our porcelain stands are rented out for $25.00 each. Our silver plated cake stands are rented out for $50.00 each. We require a
rental agreement filled out, along with a security deposit. The security deposit must be made in the form of a check. All rented stands are due back to our shop within three business days after the wedding date. Please be courteous and return the stand back to us within that time frame; as we have other brides who will be using the stand within a few days as well. We will not be responsible for picking up stands at any venue; otherwise a delivery fee will be incurred, with your credit card on file. Please review our shop hours in order to make advance preparations. If the stand is lost or damaged, we will redeem the check for the replacement of the stand. We appreciate the stand(s) returned to us in the manner in which it was rented out, clean and free of cake and frosting residue. Please share this information with the person in charge of returning the stand(s) back to us. Thank you in advance!
Can you match the ribbon color or the frosting on our cake to match our color scheme?
Please be advised that we do our absolute best to match color swatches when we design your cake. We will match shades of colors as best as we can, but in some instances, we cannot match the colors exactly. If you are providing ribbon, we will need 4-5 yards of unwired ribbon depending upon the size and shape of your cake. We need to have possession of the ribbon 2-3 weeks prior to the wedding date, along with any other design elements such as cake toppers. We appreciate ribbon swatches mailed directly to us or dropped off at the shop since emailed color swatches can vary greatly on computer screens.
Do you ship your cakes?
Unfortunately, we do not ship our cakes due to their delicate structure and perishable ingredients. We can however, ship out cookies.
What is fondant and do we have to use it?
Fondant is a rollable cake icing that is used to produce a satin smooth, elegant finish. It is also a modeling paste that is used to create decorative accent pieces. Our fondant is rolled thin, is soft and has a mellow flavor. The fondant is draped over a butter cream frosted cake. Certain designs work best in fondant covered cakes. We often recommend using fondant to any bride looking to have a pure white cake finish since our butter cream frostings are not pure white but ivory in color.
However, most of our cakes are designed with a butter cream finish. Scrumptions® only uses unsalted, sweet butter to make our butter cream frostings. Margarines and shortenings are never used. We attain the best of both worlds: a smooth velvety finish and a delicious melt in your mouth frosting that is not too sweet.
Do you make display cakes?
If you are looking to increase the size of your cake, we are able to add additional faux tiers to achieve your desired height and vision. We can also offer additional cake, back up tiers or sheet cakes, to accommodate the number of servings you desire. We can offer you pricing options on various size combinations to best suit your needs. Please contact us to learn more.
Keep in mind that your wedding cake should be the centerpiece of your reception. The dessert is the ending to your perfect day. The beauty of having a wedding cake is the anticipation that you and your guests will have a delicious piece of cake waiting for you at the end of the evening. Trust me, you will fall in love with our cakes; one bite at a time. If cake isn’t your preference, then check out our other offerings… pies, miniature pastries, desserts, or cookies. We have something for everyone!
How do we order our anniversary cake?
Who wants a frozen, year old, stale cake for their anniversary celebration? We don’t and that is why we freshly bake and simply decorate your complimentary anniversary cake upon your one year anniversary. It is a simple process… just give us a call and let us know when you want to pick up the anniversary cake. We will just need to know the wedding date and the bride’s maiden name for reference. It is as simple as that. This promotion is only available on wedding cakes which had 50 or more servings.
What is your cancellation policy and can we change details on our wedding cake after we place the order?
Please note that all wedding deposits are non-refundable. You certainly have the ability to modify your order up until 3 weeks prior to your wedding date; which is when final payment is due. After that time frame, we will no longer make any changes. We can increase the amount of cake with enough notice, but we cannot decrease it, as our plans are already in motion. The more times the order is changed, the more confusing it gets for everyone involved.
