What is the cost of your cakes?
Since each cake is customized to incorporate your personal and unique visions, it is extremely difficult to give an estimated cost since there are so many variables. Each cake cost is factored by the following specific information:
- The complexity element in design
- Total number of servings
- Cake & filling flavor(s)
- Shape of cake
- Delivery location

How do I store your butter cream cakes?
[/wpcf_question][wpcf_answer]Our cakes are baked from scratch and we only use unsalted, sweet butter for our frostings. Like butter, our butter cream frosting will be firm when in the refrigerator. In order for the frosting to soften and to attain its creamy consistency, it needs to warm up naturally. We recommend keeping our cakes in the refrigerator until 2-4 hours prior to serving. (2-3 hours in warmer months and 3-4 hours in colder months). Any remaining portions should be wrapped well and kept in the refrigerator or freezer. If you are serving your cakes within a few hours, just keep it out.
How do I serve your cakes?
We bake our cakes from scratch and do not use any preservatives; therefore, they are best when served at room temperature. Our butter cream frostings are made strictly with unsalted sweet butter, no shortening allowed! Therefore, in order to get the frosting to a creamy texture, it is necessary to allow the cake to reach peak flavor naturally at room temperature. Cakes that are made with whip cream or that contain a perishable filling should be kept refrigerated until it is ready to be served.
Remove any decorative ribbons that may have been used. There is usually a pearl colored, pin head on the back of the cake holding the ribbon in place. Please be sure to remove it and discard it carefully. Slice into the cake to serve your portions, cleaning your knife after each cut.
If the cake is a tiered cake, consisting of 2 or more tiers, then it has a support system within the cake to allow the tiers to be stable. Please remove the straws or dowels with sanitized tweezers or scissors by lifting them up. They will be found directly underneath each tier.
How do I transport your cakes?
It is simple…drive safely and keep the cakes chilled while driving. Place the cake on a flat surface; away from loose objects or debris that could potentially slide or fall into the cake while you are driving. Keep the cakes away from angled back seats as they may slide into them should the car come into a quick stop. Please also keep in mind that some of our cakes are tall and unfortunately, do not always fit into a box that completely covers it.
Do you offer cake stands or pedestals?
We do offer a wide variety of cake stands that can be rented out. Our porcelain stands are rented out for $25.00 each. Our stainless steel cake stands are rented out for $50.00 each. We require a rental agreement form filled out and a security deposit for the stands full face value. The security deposit must be made in the form of a check. All rented stands are due back to our shop within three business days after the wedding date. Please be courteous and return the stand back to us within that time frame; as we have other clients who will be using the stand within a few days as well. We will not be responsible for picking up stands at any venue, otherwise a delivery fee will be incurred, with your credit card on file. Please review our shop hours in order to make advance preparations. If the stand is lost or damaged, we will redeem the check for the replacement of the stand. We appreciate the stand(s) returned to us in the manner in which it was rented out, clean and free of cake and frosting residue. Please share this information with the person in charge of returning the stand(s) back to us. Thank you in advance! Please click here for the

Do you replicate other cake designs?
Although we prefer original designs, we can replicate original designs as best that we can but please be advised that there may be some variations may or may not be present since we were not he original designers of the cake. Some substitutions may be necessary. We may not have certain tools or customized molds that were used in the original design.
When do you make your cakes?
We are constantly baking cakes….constantly. Our cakes are baked fresh…from scratch, using natural ingredients. Our frostings are made using ONLY unsalted butter; hence why our frosting is ivory in color. Some of our 2-d or 3-d handmade design elements must be made ahead of time due to design requirements. Our butter cream cakes are fully assembled the day before the due date…this is a policy that we strictly follow. Our cakes are delicate and must be cold and stable for transport.
Do you deliver?
We deliver almost all of our cakes assembled. Certain designs may need to be finished on site. We deliver anywhere in RI, MA, CT, NY, and sometimes beyond. A modest delivery and set up fee is charged. Pricing depends upon location of the reception. We deliver our cakes typically one-2 ½ hours prior to the guests arriving. Certain displays may need special accommodations and additional set up time.
What is your deadline for changing designs or cake flavors?
We carefully plan out our ordering and baking schedule based on the orders that we have committed to. There is much thought and planning that goes into our production schedules early on. When changes are made, that increases the chance that an important detail may become unbalanced. We understand that last minute hesitations may occur but we appreciate these changes done in advance. We ask for a 72 hour notice.
Can you match the frosting or other design accents to replicate the color of my scheme?
Please be advised that we do our absolute best to match color swatches when we design your cake. We will match shades of colors as best as we can, but in some instances, we cannot match the colors exactly. If you are providing ribbon for us to use, we will need a few yards of unwired ribbon, depending upon the size and shape of your cake. Please do not send it thick ribbon; no more than 1” thickness. We need to have possession of the ribbon a minimum of 3 days prior to the pick- up date, along with any other design elements such as cake toppers. We appreciate fabric ribbon swatches which can be mailed directly to us or dropped off to us at the shop. Emailed color swatches can vary greatly on computer screens. We will not be held responsible for color variations.
Please also be aware that we do our absolute best to match our frosting or fondant to the color swatch provided. Our frosting is not pure white and certain colors can be difficult to match swatches exactly.
Do you ship your cakes?
Unfortunately, we do not ship our cakes due to their delicate structure and perishable ingredients. We can however, ship out cookies.
What is fondant and do we have to use it?
Fondant is a pliable cake icing that is used to produce a satin smooth, elegant finish when rolled onto frosted cakes. It is also a modeling paste that is used to create decorative accent pieces. Our fondant is rolled thin, is soft and has a mellow flavor. The fondant is draped over a butter cream frosted cake. Certain designs work best in fondant covered cakes. We often recommend using fondant to any client looking to have a pure white cake finish since our butter cream frostings are not pure white but ivory in color.
Most of our cakes are designed with a butter cream finish. Scrumptions® only uses unsalted, sweet butter to make our butter cream frostings. Margarines and shortenings are never used. This is why we attain the best of both worlds: a smooth velvety finish and a delicious melt in your mouth frosting that is not too sweet.

We are a full, scratch bakery that creates and utilizes many different ingredients throughout the bakeshop using the same tools and equipment for all of our baking. We do our absolute best to avoid any cross contamination for guests with mild sensitivities or special preferences. We do not have special tools or equipment that is strictly used for these sensitivities and therefore, should not be considered as such a facility. Although we do offer a limited selection of flavors with these offerings, we are not and should not be considered a dairy free, nut free, gluten free or egg free facility.
How much do you charge for a sculpted or novelty cake?
Our sculpted cakes start at $10.00 per person. The minimum order is $200.00 Pricing can increase depending upon level of detailing. Please be advised that some cakes cannot be done small due to the level of intricacy and detailing.
These types of cakes cannot be made in a short lead time due to the extensive hours that is needed to execute the design properly.
What are your hours and where are you located?
Our shop is located at 5600 Post Road, East Greenwich, RI 02818. We are in the Benny’s Marketplace; near Sienna Restaurant and T;s.
Our shop is open Tuesdays –Fridays 10am-5pm & Saturdays 9am-5pm. We are closed on Sundays & Mondays.
We have special shop hours during our Holiday Season.
What is used to decorate your cakes and is it all edible?
Most of our accents are made out of rolled fondant or frosting. While most of them are edible, they may not be palatable since they have been dried for various purposes. They may be crunchy. Our numbers or larger letters may have toothpicks inside them or spaghetti sticks to help maintain structure. Please inquire about any special concerns.
I am picking up my cakes and dropping it off at the venue. Is there anything I need to be made aware of?
Our refrigerators are maintained to keep a particular temperature and they all have low levels of moisture within each unit. Most of our cakes are made with fondant, various food colorings and 2-d or 3-d fondant accents, which are susceptible to moisture damage if present in their refrigeration units. The moisture level content may be higher in other commercial or home refrigerators. This extra moisture may build condensation on your cake causing some of the colors to possible run or cause some of the accents to soften and lose some of their stability. While this is rarely an issue, we feel obligated to let you know about the possibilities that this could happen. Unfortunately, we are no longer responsible or held liable for any damage that make occur during transport or storage of our cakes.
